چکیده

Database researchers have recognized that integrating a production rules facility into a database system provides a uniform mechanism for a number of advanced database features including integrity constraint enforcement, derived data maintenance, triggers, protection, version control, and others. In addition, a database system with rule processing capabilities provides a useful platform for large and e cient knowledge-base and expert systems. Database systems with production rules are referred to as active database systems, and the eld of active database systems has indeed been active. This paper summarizes current work in active database systems and suggests future research directions. Topics covered include database rule languages, rule processing semantics, and implementation issues.

A New Approach for Knowledge Based Systems Reduction using Rough Sets Theory (RESEARCH NOTE)

Problem of knowledge analysis for decision support system is the most difficult task of information systems. This paper presents a new approach based on notions of mathematical theory of Rough Sets to solve this problem. Using these concepts a systematic approach has been developed to reduce the size of decision database and extract reduced rules set from vague and uncertain data. The method ha...

Overview of Intrusion Detection Techniques in Database

Data is one of the most valuable assets in today's world and is used in the everyday life of every person and organization. This data stores in a database in order to restore and maintain its efficiently. Since there is a database that can be exploited by SQL injection attacks, internal threats, and unknown threats, there are always concerns about the loss or alteration of data by unauthorized ...

An Overview of Challenges in Producing and Consuming Transgenic Products

The production and consumption of genetically modified (GM) products are highly controversial due to their environmental, health, and ethical impacts. Most of these disputes are caused by distrust of regulatory authorities, scientists, and technocratic decisions. Among all these concerns, health issues, allergenicity and antibiotic resistance are more important. Many of today's social developme...

The Production Logic Programs Approach, in a Nutshell: Foundations for Semantically Interoperable Web Rules

We overview our foundational work on a knowledge representation (KR) approach of web rules that are semantically interoperable between all four of the currently most commercially important families of rule systems, including production rules, relational database management systems, event-condition-action rules, and Prolog. Called here Production Logic Programs (PLP), the approach combines high ...

Analysis of Database Production Rules by Process Algebra

The purpose of this research is to analyze production rules with coupling modes in active databases and to exploit an assistant system for rule programming. Each production rule is a specification including an event, a condition, and an action. The action is automatically executed whenever the event occurs and the condition is satisfied. Coupling modes are useful to control execution order of t...
